Learn about the natural history of Santa Cruz while visiting the Museum’s Ohlone Room, Intertidal Touch Pool, and Wildlife Habitat exhibits.
The Museum welcomes self-guided group visits, however, in order to accommodate all visitors a reservation is required for all groups of 10 or more people. By scheduling your group in advance, you guarantee adequate time and space for your group as well as other visitors to the Museum.

Scheduling a Group Visit
Days Offered: Tuesday – Sunday
Dates available: Year-round
Start times: During museum hours preferred. Tues-Friday: 11am – 4pm, Sat & Sun: 10am – 5pm
Duration: 1 hour
Group size: 35 individuals maximum
Chaperones for youth groups: Minimum ratios (adult: student): Pre K (1:5); grades 3-5 (1:6); middle school (1:8); high school (1:10)

$20 for 10-20 individuals
$35 for 21-35 individuals
Docent-Guided Youth Groups
$40 for a 30 minute docent-led tour
Self-Guided Adult Groups
$30 for 10-20 individuals
$45 for 21-35 individuals

Group types: Youth groups are a group of 10 or more individuals affiliated with a K-12 class: preschools, home school groups, boy/girl scouts. Adult groups include college classes, adult/senior groups, personal, or family groups.
Docent-Guided Tours last 30 minutes and are adapted to the level and interests of the group. A museum docent will lead the group through each of the Museum’s galleries, sharing points of interest and answering questions. Additional items such as animal pelts, skulls and skeletons, or (replica) Ohlone artifacts may be brought out upon request. Please indicate your group’s interests with your reservation so that we can better prepare for your visit. Availability of additional resources may vary.
