Winter Open House

It’s that time of year again! Our annual Winter Open House is the perfect way to kick off December, with winter crafts, FREE admission and a store-wide sale. Come enjoy complimentary cookies and cider while you find the perfect gift for your nature-loving friends and family. Choose from natural history books and field guides, nature ornaments, educational toys, works produced by local artists, and books on local fossils and geology found nowhere else!

Saturday, December 1 &  Sunday, December 2
10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

10:30 – 11:30 a.m. | Storytime

Join Nancy and Marisa for an hour of natural history storytime! Stories will be chosen based on the interests and ages of the group. (Saturday and Sunday)

12 – 2 p.m. | Gift Making

We’ll feature a different gift each day of the Winter Open House. All ages are welcome and staff will help guide your creation. Materials and instruction are free!
Saturday: Bird nest necklaces inspired by specimens from the Museum’s collections.
Sunday: Wreaths using foraged materials from the Museum’s Native Plant garden and beyond!

3 p.m. | Tidepool Feeding

Join Tyler at our Intertidal Touch Pool and learn about this special habitat while helping to feed our animals! (Saturday only)

ALL DAY | Nature Crafts

Explore the science of snowflakes or create gift bags and greeting cards using pressed plants! Free for all ages!

ALL DAY | Holiday Sale

Find the perfect nature-themed gift in the Museum Store. All items will be 10% off for the public, and 15% or 20% off for Museum Members (discounts may not apply to consignment and clearance items).
